What's different about Mumbai...
Bangal0re, a place where I have spent most of my past four years and Mumbai , where I have spent even lesser time than the total time I would have spent in parties over the past four years. But still I like that city.
Mumbai has a starnge feel to it. A feel of urgency, a charge of work, n enthusiasm of achievement, a thought of enterpreneurship, a spark of ideas and above all a will to do something. Each man and woman alike, seem to be focussed to something, seem to be toiling for something and seem to be aiming for something. Though the something might not be fully defined and could vary from money, fame or the other maslow needs but still aiming to live towards something.
Be it the seven year old boy who is engaged in ironing and delivering clothes to the security man to the stock trader who has lost everything once upon a time in the markets to every other person, they have a dream which they pursue day in and day out and have a focus to get it, know how to get it (might not be the best way to get it but still...).
That is Mumbai. Even after returning from there, I can see the sea side, feel being on marine drive, after a hard day of work, just spending a few minutes with your loved one or maybe just looking out into the sea and retrospect over the day or maybe just be blank and void of thoughts, it gives you that starnge feeling of joy and calmness and contentment.
People from other cities point out the small spaces in which people live but it is actually these small places/houses/shacks/chauls where people nurture their families, grow them and sustain them. Its the small dreamz that make the place and not the four walls as they say. Every person wanting to move up the value chain, into a bigger house or into a better locality, nearer to the town, nearer to their dreams/wishes for themselves and for their children, though in reverse order of priority.
